Semi crystalline ethylene-propylene rubber with a low ENB (ethylidene norbornene) content and a low Mooney viscosity.
The low level of unsaturation ensures excellent heat ageing performance, especially when peroxide cured. The CLCB polymer structure ensures a good balance between processing and physical properties. The low ENB content makes this polymer very compatibility with respect to cure characteristics in blends with butyl rubber. Advantages of EPDM-Butyl blends (compared to 100% butyl) are improved heat-and ozone resistance and increased loading levels of filler and oil.
Typical applications for this product are inner-tubes (blend with butyl rubber), battery caps, curing bladders, heat resistant belt and radiator gasket.
